Milltek fitted

Featured Replies

Well after looking for a Milltek cat back for a while in private adverts I finally found one that was 6 weeks old! Did a deal and got it posted and was in superb condition.Fitting was a pain as i didn't realise the old system had to be cut to remove it then putting it on was a very tight fit :/

After lots of head scratching and swearing I finally got it an and got it sitting correctly and started it up .I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the noise on initial start up.I got the unresonated one and thought it would have a nice rip to it but it is pretty quiet on light throttle .On a test drive it seems better especially under hard throttle but the down side is drone at motorway speed.I can live with that but im worried that when I get a decat it will be too noisy on long journeys. In my mind the car seems a bit better at high revs but im sure its just because there's more noise :)

Need to find an intake now then map time.

On a final note I fitted a new DV (version G) and I was shock how much difference it made compared to my old version D which had a torn diaphragm .

Any sound clips? Would be interested to see what its like! :)

I initially had the non-res milltek but found the drone far to annoying. Switched to the res and am much happier.

Not had a chance to take any video yet but when I do ill post it up.

Any chance you could get one from inside the car too? I'd like to go for the non res but a bit of research says they can be hard to listen to on a long journey!

One I made earlier non res

Sounds great, how do you find it at 50-60mph in the cabin?

My work mate owns Trevor's old octy in that vid

It does done quite a bit to much for my liking at speed

Never used to bother me , though I'm used to loud exhausts, had pre cat delete too which will increase noise abit

On light throttle at motorway speeds its ok,it's just when you apply a bit more throttle ,say going up a long hill that the noise becomes boomy.Sorry I've no vid up but I don't drive it every day more like once a week and its parked at work just now as I have a company car( which makes me appreciate my car more :))
