Forge Split-r advice

Featured Replies

Just wondering what people's overall opinion is of the split-r dv? I have been looking into various recirc valves recently and moreso now that mine is really struggling to hold boost and have read many mixed reviews of them.

Does anyone on here have first hand experience of them and know if they are any good and how muchof a pain they are to set up to run nicely (getting spring setup correct) so no boosting issues.

I have been offered one at a very very good price so am just wondering I I should go for it or if its going to add to my constant list of headaches with the car at present :(

I used to have one and I could never get set right. It'd be fine for a bit and then it would need tweeking again. I eventually sent mine back to Forge and they swapped it for a 007P which gave me no issues.

That's my main worry I its going to need playing with regularilly or not.

I guess with the spring in the 007 or 008 at least you know its going to hold to that pressure all the time. :)

Was just very tempted by the extra noise of the r although hopefully with my new induction setup ok tomorrow it should give a bit more noise than my current setup.

Appreciate your info niceyellow vrs ;)

Rubbish!

They also give no extra noise.

The 007 or newer updated 008 are much better and less hassle.

That's fair enough. Only ever seen clips of them on YouTube but thought they sounded ok.

Must admit that's the one thing I dislike about the vag engines and that you can't run atmospheric. Such a gorgeous noise when done properly.

Will prob stick with full recirc along with my custom cai and let it do its thing that way then.
