AF60 VRS

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, been a while but I may well be back in the octavia world very soon after having to part with my scout.

Looking at a 60 plate vrs at the minute. Anyone seen

AF60XFE or know of it?

Is it AF60 VRS or AF60 XFE?

The first would make a good private plate!

What happened to the Scout?

Hey Silver,

It was actually XFE, wasn't sure about posting the whole plate in the title. Turns out my colleague has bought it today!

Unfortunately, and regretfully the Scout had to go because of HMRC hammering me on company car tax (over 400 per month!). Since the I've had a pick up truck and currently in a 3 series BMW, but that's due replacement soon.

Ouch, I guess that is down to the CO2 emissions of the CR140 + 4x4?

Hopefully the MkIII Octy Scout will be more company car friendly!

My Scout was the PD engine so emissions were up at 154g CO2, so HMRC bloody loved me!! I actually wrote to Skoda HQ suggesting they try get the emissions down as far as possible on the Scout, reckon they would sell a lot more.....and I actually got a reply - 'The idea is appealing, and has been passed to the technical teams'.

Whether or not it was is another story, but if they could get it down to around 110g mark, I'd have another in a heartbeat!

Sorry, the PD Scout comes in at 173g CO2, which works out for me this year at £409/m in tax!!! I really didn't understand the tax implication when I chose that one :(

What you need to remember is that they put cats on the vehicles to convert CO to co2. They are actually designed to make co2. A win, win situation for the government :-\ Its not about the environment, its about screwing motorists. If it was about the environment, they would fine or at least charge companies for producing co2 and a host of other pollutants (petrochemical plants etc) and releasing them into the atmosphere.

They forget the other pollutants that cars and industry put into the air, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, benzine, etc that are much worse to health than co2. There is also very nasty stuff like sulpher dioxide and strong odours from landfill sites etc that give local communities serious problems but the government turns a blind eye to that.

The law abiding motorist is the easy target.

And the CR is 155g/km - not bad for the performance and capability.
