My new vrs cleaned

Featured Replies

From the 22 December, 2 days after delivery.

This was initially going to be a quick wash and slap something on to protect the car until I can get a free weekend to do it thoroughly - whaddya know, the sun came out, the swirls shone in all their glory and awakened the slumbering OCD beast lol.

I'll try to remember how to list my processes - been a while!

Foam using Valet Pro PH Neutral
Wash using Valet Pro shampoo
Britemax Iron Max (only had a small amount so roof and tailgate left)
Polished using Menzerna 203 on a Farecla finishing pad
Gtechniq c1.5v2 x 2 coats to all exterior surfaces
Gtechniq T1 to tyres
Britemax metal polish to exhaust(s!!) followed by Blackfire metal sealent (also used this on wheels)

Gtechniq I1 to all carpets, mats and fabric seat areas
Britemax Leather Max to leather parts of seats
Gtechniq C6 to all interior plastics

Still far from how I want it to be and I will be getting it into a friend's unit ASAP to fully protect the paint and wheels etc. It needs a proper polish too but I'm a bit out of touch so will be researching whether Menzerna remains a contender (i.e. no filling).

A few after pics.

Looks great, can't wail to get mine at the end of March, will be same couloir but I've gone for the DSG hatch.

Very nice mate, how do you find the tyre treatment?

Looks good.  Any tips on keeping the calipers nice and red?

Gtechniq tyre dressing is the most durable I've found but at this time of year most are next to useless after 10 miles anyway.

I plan to treat the calipers with gtechniq C5 (wheel sealant) once I can find time and 3 hours' dry weather to let it cure.
