My Skoda Octavia Tdi Vrs Estate 2007 has been running like a dream, can return 48 mpg no problem.

Today however the engine warning light stayed on, took it to my local garage who plugged in their expensive device to check fault. 

It showed fault code 09766 and that was all, after it was unplugged and restarted light was out on the dash, car as before runs fine, but I cannot find what that code stands for, and one any idea, please. :think:

Looks like that isn't a proper VAG fault code.  The garage may not have given you the full readout from their expensive machine.

 

Alternatively see if there is anyone near you with VCDS, which should shed a bit more light on the problem.
