Scratch Removal

Featured Replies

Went to get my hair cut in Stockton today, left the vRS parked in a side street and came back to find a couple of deep scratches down the passenger side front door (on the road side), I don't think they will 'T Cut' out, anyone got any ideas of how to get rid of them ?

Sorry to hear that dude, theres some **** heads about...usually if you can feel the scratch with your nail you'll not cut it out it will be a smart repair job.

If you have the patience of a saint and its a basic primary colour you might be able to carefully fill in to some degree then buff out with various abrasives ranging from rougher to smoother to "fill" the crack in.

But probably best left to an expert.

T cut is like the bar of soap is to professional cleaning by the way. Its only really a laymans polish. Is it still based on silicones therefore extremely unsuitable for painting over etc ?

We have a similar problem, a very deep Stanley knife cut that you can feel sticking out on both offside doors.

I bought recently from Costco, a Du Pont Pro-Fusion-Colour Scratch Repair Kit for all colours, has anyone else experience of using this,

DB.

Respray it sounds like to me. :(

I'm afraid t see that the off-the-shelf stuff isn't rally up to much.

As said before, if it's is deep and you can easily feel it with a. Finger nail it is probably past even machine polishing.

A 'smart repair' guy might be able to sort it but they usually trot out the mantra "well.... If it was at the edge of the door I could 'lose it' but (sharp intake of breath through teeth) I think this may be more costly....."

Failing that I'd go to a couple of small independent body shops that have oven facilities etc.

Machine Polishing will probalby take the bad look off it, but wont get rid of it :(

Pro job it looks like.
