Diverter Valve

Featured Replies

Hi all....I have tried search and not sure if it's my ipad or what but typing diverter valve brings no results...? Anyway my car has been giving some weird issues but not throwing any codes up....issues being irrational boost and performance , it feels like the diesel power band as in nothing and them everything but very short lived which is a newish issue accompanied by reduced performance (only sometimes) I am guessing here that I require a new DV (going for cheap options first before throwing lots of money into diagnostics etc) my question is:

Which DV to go for and how on earth do you fit it in these cars?

Thanks for looking!

TFSI by the way :)

The most favoured DV is the Audi S3 revision D DV. That's what I had fitted to mine after mapping.

The stock version fitted is known to split around the rubber diaphragm. Even on stock engines.

If I remember correctly the DV is located on the underside of the vehicle near the driver side wheel arch. I'd recommend replacing the DV on a ramp.

Thanks Stu08 I was under the impression there is now a G revision? Car is stock by the way so I am clutching at straws and hoping a new dv fixes the issue...thanks for heads up on the ramp I have heard it is a pig of a job

No problems. I've also seen the rev G DV, it has the diaphragm around the piston. Apparently stops boost leaks, mine holds a solid 14 psi under full throttle. I'm not too worried about the apparent issue.

Standard is regarded as adequate as long as it's the newer revision one. It's situated on the right hand side of the engine iirc, no where near the drivers arch or underneath the car.

Cheers for the advice ;)

I'm surprised no one has tried the GFB DV+ yet. Although a bit expensive , if it does as it should its almost fit and forget.

Rev G is £40 though and I am sure will be good for a few years :-)

Seen that one too. Very tempted! However mine is working fine and £97 is substantial for no difference. It may be something I try in the future though. :)

What about the forge version? Looks similar to the gfb dv+ but cheaper

The only forge dv I can find is £200!

They do an adapter/spacer similar to the dv+. Think it's around £60ish, the complete replace forge item is £200 and a tad pricey lol

Rev D is the newest. Rev G is older But better than a Rev C which are almost guaranteed to fail

I think I will go for the rev d pietsberg from awesome gti :)

  • 8 months later...

Is there a difference between the pietsberg and the VW version or just an extra £18 lol?
