How many!?!?! Used VRS's on the Skoda website

Featured Replies

Just had a little browse on the Skoda website (as you do) and I found that there are 99 Mk2 VRS Hatches and 19 MK2 VRS Estates for sale in the used network!

118 altogether! Is it me or is that a little extreme!?! Considering there are only like 2500 odd registered in the country?

Does anyone have faith in this plucky little motor? :-(

People sell cars and people are getting rid of the oldest vRS. and they are 3 1/2 years old

But then there are a fair few Skoda Dealerships in the UK & (over 1900 i think)

there are several near me, each with 1 or more Used and Ex Demonstrator vRS Advertised.

(not looking like they are selling, but they are priced high)

Then there are the Independents, Traders and private sellers.

I would reccon there are several hundred used mk2 vRS currently for sale in the UK.

There are 118 for sale on Autotrader today, and thats about normal,

Cars sell and others get advertised, there is a turn over.

Does seem quite high though

For a comparisons of sorts.

there are about 2,862 'Toyota GT 86' registered in the UK,

and 129 advertised for sale on Autotrader.

About 200 Registered 'Subaru BRZ',

and 27 Advertised for sale on Autotrader.

But like other cars advertised, some of those are New with only Demonstrator or Delivery Mileage

A lot of the cars advertised are under the 3 year window of PCP and hire purchase swapping. A lot of 2012 and even 2013 cars with under 5000 miles!

I don't know, it just makes you think. Are people wanting rid of this car because they think it's a ticking time bomb as wrongly perceived on here?

Cars with under 5,000 miles at dealers are often Ex Demonstrators,

and dealers are asking too high prices and these are sitting not selling well.

Why do you say wrongly perceived?

Do you not think there is not an actual problem with a good percentage of the engines,

and that Skoda, VW, SEAT & Audi are very unhelpful on the matter and not prepared to accept a problem ?

I would think people do want rid of them,  but not only because of some being a ticking time bomb,

but because of actually showing signs of high oil usage already.

The percentage of the 2009-2012 CAVE engines in the SEAT, SKODA, VW & AUDI that were and are faulty is quite high and getting higher.

(Only About 1800 vRS CAVE engine Twinchargers solds in the UK June 2010-Oct 2012, even the ones we know about with members on Briskoda seems high, and yet Skoda seem surprised every time a owner reports a problem.

Dealers are liable to say, "That is how they are",  "They all use Oil",   "1/2 a litre in 600 miles is OK" )

Once vRS are being bought used and the Oil Usage was not resolved with the previous owner, the new owner has a battle on their hands.

Then from late 2012 there are some faulty CTHE engines and who knows what happens with them in the next year or 2.

It is not scare mongering, there is an actual issue and the 'VOLKSWAGEN AUDI GROUP' have not addressed the problems

that some of the engines have,

and the Financial Losses that owners may have suffered.

So rightly so, some get shot of the cars early, or punt them knowing theirs has a problem looming.

Then Customer Services, and a simple thing like 'Pulling to the left', tyre problems,

Skoda make people jump through hoops, waste time back and fore for Alignment checks, adjustment,

"They all do that sir!", and they know what is Wrong.

Sickens people, Oil Problem, Steering Problem, they here the scare stories which can actually be fact.

just get Shot while you can.

Simples really.

'Funnily when good, the car is fine, pity Skoda/VAG can not speak truthfully to Customers.

ALASDAIR STEWART,UK  BRAND DIRECTOR SKODA,

is the man that will have to get his butt in action

and answer for why SKODA UK are treating paying customers so badly.

I have faith :) .

However, agree Skoda's / VAG's attitude is deplorable when people have a problem. If I do decide to get another car I'll be going outside VAG for the first time since 2004.

Brian that is ye and me with the Faith,

(and the piece of mind from that 'Extended Warranty' taking us to late 2015.,)

Pretty cheapish motoring for at least 5 years and good value for the fun factor.
