Leaking Boot!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Hopefully someone can answer this easily and save me some hassle! I've had problems with the rear door cards previously and you guys helped me out a lot and that was fixed easily.

When I've opened the boot I've noticed water dripping down from within the plastic boot/door card and it looks like there is water sitting on the rubber seals. I've removed the plastic that covers the upper break light and also the two plastic side pods but can't work out how to remove the large plastic boot card so can't see what it's like behind there. The water was dripping down the right hand pod- not sure if this indicates anything?

Can anybody help me with this please!

Thanks in advance :)

just a good pull ..... i normally start above the wipermotor in the middle and work to one side .... just a really good tug and itll come

Yeah yank it and just prise it round edges, have you got it dewipered by anychance? Mine is and i think thats where its leaking from.

Mines completely standard so i doubt it's the wiper that's letting it in. It's as if it's coming down the right hand side pod. Really strange.

is it only when you open the boot that water goes in the boot? if the boot is closed does it stay dry?

only reason is that i know under a decent shower water runs off my spoiler and down the manages to pour on the the back seats .... not sure how it manages it .... but i learn to live with it by not opening the boot fully until the water has run off

Is your rear wiper jet very powerful?

Mine was leaking out of the mechanism and into the boot trim exactly like you describe

Thanks for the replies, I'll try the rear washer jet tomorrow. Is this a common fault and if this is the case what is required to repair it? Thanks again
