Central locking Superb II - anyone help?

Featured Replies

My 2009 Superb decided today that it would not operate the central locking correctly.

The maxidot display shows the drivers door as open - even though it isn't.

When I operate the keyfob UNLOCK mode, I get the usual 2 beeps to confirm; when I operate the LOCK mode nothing happens.  :(

I can only lock the doors individually using the emergency procedure and there seems to be no way of locking the boot or activating the alarm.

I've done the obvious and checked all the fuses - all seem OK.

- Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks...

The sensor in the lock is not connecting, so the ecu thinks door isn't closed when it is?

If the drivers door is not closed central locking will not lock or set alarm

Thanks - any ideas about a fix.

- Is it a DIY job or a visit to the dealer?

I would be suspicious of a break in the door wiring in the door jamb....i think some people have had problems with this part of the loom before?

Thanks - in the end I've booked it in for diag.

- Just hoping it doesn't cost the earth!

Just had the report from the dealership - jinxgj, you were right - needs the wiring loom section between the door & body replaced. Apparently it can happen after some time: mine has done 106,000 miles now.

Cost at dealer - £288 - a b it painful but guess it could have been worse!
