Can you take a map from another car?

Featured Replies

A mate works for a Skoda main dealer and they have a VRS as a pool car that's been remapped (claimed 180bhp).

Just wondering if I could hook my laptop up to it, download the map with MPPS, then upload it to my car?

Cheers.

Erm in theory yes, in practice there will be slight differences in how much air/fuel etc the car uses which may only be slight but could make a difference, especially if its a custom map if its more generic then I imagine there would be less to worry about.

Other things to take into consideration are engine types and ecu types.

Also is it worth bricking your ecu to try get a cheap remap?

Try Hidden power (Google it) can provide you with a very good remap from as little as £50

no, it'll be secured to stop people stealing it no doubt.

Good luck with that. Ripped off MPPS ripping off someone else's map, sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
