Sliders for middle dash vents have broken off

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2013 superb s recently when I moved the slider in the middle dash air vent to make the air blow towards me the slider came away in my hand I examined the remaining vent to see how it was attached and it also came away

I visited my dealer today and they reckon these will not be covered under warranty as it is classed as broken trim I pointed out that I had not been careless or heavy handed

Has anyone else experienced this problem with thier skoda

Many thanks Eric

Trim should obviously not break and it is not up to you to that it was your fault. IT IS under warranty and unless they can prove that you are the cause of the break they have to honour under the Sales of Goods Act the repair. They are using the fact that it is unusual for it to break.

Just my thoughts.

Agreed, your air vent was not fit for purpose and didn't last a reasonable time. But any claim under SoG needs to be made to the supplying dealer (retailer) not Skoda.

Don't let them cloud the issue by bringing warranties into it. The existance of a warranty does not affect your statutory rights.

I'd totally agree with the above and with artichoke273. Don't back down with the dealer and hit up Skoda if you don't get it sorted.

I guess that as 2 1/2 years have elapsed since he originally posted, and he has not been on the site since January, it will have been sorted one way or another.  :D

LOL - I'm thinking you must be right! Never thought to check the date...

All I'm wondering now is why it came up top of the "Recently Posted" list this morning...? And there were no replies at all when I answered it?

Someone up there is telling you to check your air vent sliders!  :D

I broke accidentally middle vent rest with phone holder. The whole double vent panel needs to be changed, cost 120 euros.

Did that - they are OK. If they weren't, I was off to get the car exorcised...
