Non Canbus live feed at L/H/R of hatchback (FL)

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if there is a non canbus sensed live feed anywhere on the L/H/R of a 2011 (FL) Hatchback VRS.

I need one for 2 reasons.

1. Install a cigarette lighter port for charging up my devices when in the boot.

2. To install my reversing camera. I have it wired into the reverse lights at the moment and when the engine is running the picture is rubbish because of the canbus. Therefore I need to install a relay so that it comes on when reverse is engaged but the feed is not on the canbus line.

If anyone has the wiring diagrams and could help me out that would be much appreciated.

If you run a line to fuse box you can use heated seats slot or rear wiper as switched live that are not canbus. Blade fuse adaptor etc. Along the lines of what I did, but located where ever. I was thinking of running a new line from fuse box to boot for same idea but a rear not reverse camera. You could cut into the rear wiper cable, I just want to have it in a way I can remove it without having touched anything stock. Id like to have something more substantial in boot with it's own fuse so if I plugged in something that needed a lot of power like a cool box I wouldn't be pushing the wiper one etc. I have some good cable and all ready to go for it just not got round to it.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to run a live feed from front to back. Any idea what colour the rear wiper is, I don't need alot of power for the reversing camera and I might just forget about the 12v socket.

No idea on colour, but some members have used this wire to power rear cameras already, be worth a search on the forum.
