Fabia Ambiente 1.2 12V 64bhp

Featured Replies

My daughter has just bought a brand new fabia. As this is her first car i had a look over to ensure all was ok. The cam and drive belts are all exposed (no cover is fitted) is this normal.

TIA,

Derek.

I believe so yes IIRC when I had a look under the bonnet of the curtosy car I had.

If its a 1.2 then it has no cambelt (its a lifetime cam chain).

The (one) auxillary drive belt for the alternator and a/c is exposed as in 99.5% of all cars.

Many thanks for the replies every car i have had always had cam belts and were at the left hand side of the engine with a cover so i was looking for the same.

Thats some saving if no belt change required on the cam, last time i had mine changed on a Renualt Laguna the main dealer wanted

yup thats perfectly normal... thats how it is on mine (1.2 12v Comfort - which is now ambiente)

Nothing to worry about... bet she loves the car
