skoda auto dx sat nav head unit

Got my car back from garage other day after getting a recon turbo fitted, I guess they had the battery off for some reason and now I need the code for the radio.

I've done some research and apparently it should recognise its the factory unit and remember it's own code? Is this true cos after 3 days it still wants a code.

Will this be a trip to skoda for them to sort
