Looking at purchasing these? For a Black Magic vRS for its first full Pre-Wash - Sealant detailing session.

I use numbers 1, 4 and 5 very regularly, and can vouch for them.

The polish #2 sounds very similar to stuff I use.

Any suggestion on a sealant? Just chose that cause i've heard Poorboys are good products!

I use 1 too. I also have some kent drying towels I use after getting most of the water off with the mamouth and find it easier to use a couple of these for finishing the drying process off rather than having to try and wring the WM out, especially this time of year when it's cold. Being dry they get the last few remnants of water off better IMO and are easier to use on the tricky bits. I then use one to door the door shuts and another under the bonnet- saves a lot of wringing out........

As a q why are you using a sealant? Quite a few who know more about it than me say sealants are better on light colured cars-I'm not suggesting you don't use one but just interested to know why you chose it. Poorboys black hole is good stuff for dark cars and you could probably put the colonite over the top.

Cleanyourcar.com?

You do realise the stying and care section is a bit like the hotel california don't you?

I dunno i just assumed the process was, wash, clay, polish wax then seal but i suppose your wax is acting as your seal really?

You either seal or wax usually.

Some will layer and if so then it is seal first, wax second. Collinite 845 as long as you warm it up is fab to work with and long lasting, I always have a bottle, the wooly mammoth is a go to towel for many people.

If buying from CYC I would give serious consideration to swapping Poorboys for Sonax sealer and QD.

The shopping basket is fine and CYC are great, five mins. From my house and have met the guys, good bunch.

Are you working by hand or with a machine? If by machine I presume you have pads sorted if by hand have a look at the accessories section and invest in some good German applicators and the like to make the most of the products you buy.

I've never used both TBH, but think apart from autoglym super resin polish and their EGP sealer the others do it the other way round i.e. sealer them wax. There's plenty of good stuff out there and some of the more experienced guys will probably be able to recommend some stuff to go under the colonite if you want to use sealer as well.

I use autoglym high dev wax on my race blue with regular applications of a quick detailer after I've washed it to help maintain the protection.

Don't forget your wheels too..... again loads of stuff out there. I use bilberry wheel cleaner each wash and seal them when I wax the rest of the car with bilberry wheel wax, but again there are other wheel waxes and sealers out there. Oh and while I'm spending your money don't forget some irox x to get rid of the brake liner metal contamination and tardis tar remover to get your wheels clean before you wax them - assuming you've got alloys. Good luck

This is an awesome thread showing the protection you get just from their QD.

If you like water behaviour pics and vids, you will love this stuff.

Can I ask what you have planned for the prewash - decon prior to machine polishing with the DA? Is it just wash and clay or do you have the IronX TarX type products as well?
