Improved Fuel economy

Featured Replies

I have noticed that when I have covered 520 miles my fuel gauge shows "Empty".  So now I put another tankful in, every time I reach 520 miles.

This has had a wonderful effect on my fuel economy.  However fast I drive my car or how hard I drive it, whatever fuel I use and regardless of traffic, weather, type of roads I drive on, the tyres I fit or pressure I run them at, or the load I carry, I can tell that my fuel consumption is unafected because I get exactly the same mileage out of each tankful.

Result! as they say.

Really ?

Is it April already ?

Was going to ask same question.

Surely the more likely reason is that your driving style averages out the same on both tank fills?

Must be running an 'energy polariser', Google it.

How much is a full tank on average? My Blackline Dsg squeezes 500. I'm sure I've read that the mk3 has a smaller tank. Also are you manual?

50l tank which equals 11 gallons. 520 miles will be ~52mpg if you refill once the warning light occurs. 52mpg is certainly possible from all Octy III diesels, so long as you don't get bogged down in traffic too often.
