Guys..... Who is running 8.5j rims

More so is anyone running 225s?

What offsets n arch clearance do u have

Im running 8.5js with 225s and the clearance is fine.. well just about unless you have passengers and there is the odd scrape but only from the plastic wheel arch liner. Depends how low you go

What offset are they matey ?

I honestly couldn't tell you... as I got them off a mate and fitted them before coil overs, so lowered accordingly. But can run a nice ride height with 225/40/18

Pics ? :)

Wonder how low u could get with a et30 8.5 with 225

Hmmm

Just fit a 205 on. No prob getting lows then :D

a 215/35/19 is as narrow as it gets

I was just trying to find more about 225s and get it more planted for once

Ive looked into it abit and seems theres still abit of steetch on it due to the shallow sidewall

Hmmm

Will depend on the tyre I think.

My vredesteins are 225s but look wider than other 225's I've seen.

The TT rims are ET 33 and with only a small drop it rubs 2 up on the rear over big bumps, but it is only on the plastic arch liner.

I think you will may have issues with 225s with the height you may want to run.

Think Adam had issues with rubbing and his were 225s and et35!

Yeah i think 18s are a defo no, the 40 profile just wont do anything to help

I did have a -1 camber shim before so maybe i'll go back to that and also order a toe correct shim to help

They will have 215/35/19s first

Just not many options on that size

What's gonna be the difference between the 8s with adapters and 8.5s offset wise?

What does a 215 on a 8.5 look like stretch wise?

  • Author

Both offset is et30

A 215 will be cool

But theres like no choice in tyres

At mo its 453 and kang ns2

Ok if they still do my rainsport 2s

Ive found toe shims :)

Spoke to venom so can get from there

Ive also spoke to simon at performance driven and he is gna take on my nightmare

Going to use -1.0 camber then use a toe correct shim to get it back out to proper ;)

This will allow the 225/35/19 to go on or pos even still allow the 3sdms to go ( but id sooner sell them n buy more ch's )

Now i just need funds :D

Doh

I got 215/40/18s on my front 8.5 001s , that looks funky

So with a 35 u'll get a rounder edge :) and nicer stretch in

Might aswell just use the tyres you have now surely then? The way you use or don't use it i should say they will last for years yet!

Quick google search shows they will look good and still not be a crazy stretch!

Yeah the rainsports will go on mate

But its when i need them lol

Its ok if do the rs still but if not id go 225s

Its going to go back with the -1 shim it seems then toe adjusted this time :)

215s on a 8.5 is a nice stretch :)

Not tooo much

But enough to amuse :)

215 on a 8 was only a smidge but still funky...... But not enough :)

225 on a 9.5 is awesome but no fun :D

How were ur fronts mate ?

I love tyrestretch.com :D

U dnt get much stretch on a 225/40 tho, alot is lost in the sidewall :(

A 35 gives a nice little pull which is nice

Im going to set the rear with -1 camber shim and a toe correct shim ;)

Should give abit of a margin to play

I shall then peek how the 3sdms are and decide stay or go

If they stay and do what i want they may need to go carbon hehe

My fronts are 8.5 et30 cos spaced

Depending on height arches may need a roll

;) we shall see
