Extending an existing 3-yr warranty ?

Featured Replies

Hello again

Does anyone know if it's possible to extend the Skoda warranty to say 4 or 5 years, on a used Yeti that's perhaps only got a few months of the original 3yr warranty left ?

Or is this something can only be arranged when the car is new ?

Thanks...

Yes.

Just go to Skoda - its about £300/year or £600/2 years.

More if mileage is higher.

Some members said thy got £250/year

And some say why? Lol

Some buy 3rd party.

Some just save the cash for a rainy day...

If you read the other thread you'll see there are two options.

1. The Skoda warranty of 3 years can be extended to 5 years when buying new.

2. After the 3 year warranty you can buy extended warranties from Skoda/Dealers.

Thanks. I've read it now, and know what I need to :)

I bought a 3 yr old yeti so I got a 1 year approved used warranty and recently just before it expired skoda offered me another year plus skoda assist for £449. So I took it mainly due to me having an early 1.2 tsi which apparently can be problematic.

Just had my first MoT at Listers Skoda, Coventry - passed of course - but I enquired about a Skoda extended warranty. I was told that there is no actual 'Skoda' extended warranty unless purchased at first registration as an option. Listers, offer their own extended warranty including Skoda Assist (which I have found to be a brilliant service). The quote for 2 years was £880. Warranty Direct, quote £660 for 2 years on their 'Luxury' package, specifying main dealer repairs only. The two warranties are virtually identical regarding cover though, of course, the W D salesman claimed that theirs is a superior product with better cover for 'wear and tear' and 'consquential damage' i.e. a part fails but leads to damage to other parts. Comprehensive breakdown cover is included (provided by AXA). At a £220 saving, it seems like a 'no brainer' and W D are probably the largest warranty provider with good customer ratings. What do members think?

But there was a 'Skoda Approved Extended Warranty' Available from Skoda, 1 or 2 years, with or without Assistance.

Bought after the 3 Year Manufacturers Warranty Expires..

2 years £547, 1 year £399,.  & its a CAR CARE PLAN Warranty,

You could buy Online Cheaper from Car Care Plan.

When Dealers or Staff are too lazy to Arrange it and take the Commission, you can get it through Skoda UK Customer Services.

Search the Forum 'Extended warranty' and read all the details. I did and I am opting for +2 years pre registration.

That is the cheaper way to do it.

Its buying at the time of Ordering i understood,,  or did they say pre registration?
