Hi ive done a clutch on fiesta on drive before is fabia vrs do able too ?

The gearbox on a vRS is very heavy, it's not recommended as a one man job.

How easy is it to do apart from the weight?

does yours need doing then ?

Anything is easy with the correct tools, equipment and know how. I've changed the clutch on a Saxo VTS (probably the easiest car I've worked on) and a Civic Type R, which was a little harder due to the sub-frame needing to be dropped to get the box out.

 

If you have a suitable jack your able to lower the box onto (one with wheels ideally so you can wheel the box out from underneath) or an engine hoist to take the weight then I can't see you having any major issues.

I done mine myself and as said above it's easy with the right tools and know how. It took me just over 3 hours from start to finish which includes changing the flywheel as well. It's a VERY heavy gearbox and taking it out is the easy bit, getting it back in and lining it all up is definitely not a one man job, especially if you haven't got the clutch lined up properly.

 

Unless you're feeling confident I wouldn't tackle it. 

Is it the same as a 6 speed golf gearbox to remove, you need to line up the cut out in flywheel before box will come out past flywheel?
