Rear parking sensor suddely totally dead - problem

Featured Replies

The rear parking sensors have suddenly stopped working on my Superb Elegance estate. They were working last night but this morning absolutely nothing. No beep or anything on the screen. Any ideas of where to start looking for the cause ?

At least it gives me an excuse to buy VCDS.

Many thanks.

I presume your car is over 3 or even 5 years old and therefore out of warranty?

Checked the fuse?

Same here nearly.!!

Started to give problems, working then not working. Typically every time Ibrought the car to the garage ,no problem.

Long story short ,one sensor bollixed ,near side one(only 4). Job sorted.

Hi I will check the fuse in the morning.

I should have mentioned that the reversing lights are now also not working and the radios volume stopped reducing when I put it in reverse.

your reverse light not working is the clue!

probably snapped reverse switch wire in the gearbox under the air filter box and just needs to be resoldering back together

Thanks.for the suggestions.

I did check the fuse, it had blown and blew again when replaced. When the sleet and rain go I will check the wire on the gearbox as it does look like it is a switch issue.

Just replaced the reverse light switch and put in a new fuse - Hey Presto - reversing lamps and parking aid now work . Thanks for the help.

I presume that the switch had a problem that blew the fuse? If not then be wary of why the fuse blew.
