Fitting under seat boxes - seats have to come out?

Featured Replies

Probably someone on here who has fitted these themselves?

Have read comment on Horton Skoda parts ... one that suggests you need to take the seats out (the other that its just a few screws that needs to come out)

Is this a job for an amateur?

thanks

Indeed.

Yes they do, pain in the arse but true the seat/s really need to be removed.

Careful with the seat bolts, steady does it, if you don't want crossed threads and tears before bedtime.

Edit: new bolts are recommended/required, whilst seemingly expensive may be best in this regard, dirty old threads can make for difficulty threading in and they have the blue stuff/threadlock on the new bolts.

Do you reckon your average dealer would install a pair for an hours labour or some such?

Do it yourself man, its easy enough.

Easy enough to do yourself and while the seats are out you can get the satisfaction of cleaning all those hard to reach places with the hoover :)

Its possible to do it without removing seat, just expect to swear alot and be good at feeling for holes and screwing.

no pun intended.

Just one thought, I've got a 2011 S4 Audi, and I fancy fitted these boxes to it, and it seems like you can dis-assemble the boxes, ie get the front of them, and that lets you get in and fit these boxes to the seats without removing the seats. After fitting the boxes, it seems, for the B8 S4 Audi anyway, you can then just whack, or something, the front back on these boxes. All these has been gleaned from an online guide from an Audi forum and not from personal experience.

I removed my seat to fit it, straightforward job.
