I think he was wanting someone else to do all the legwork in organising it.

Sorry,

Not really familiar with the group buy system, but I thought that there were people on here who organise such things.

I thought it would be best left to those with experience negotiating etc.

Paul.

Would be good if you could provide a starting point....standard cost and a link to a supplying company.

Then the organising a price getting starts....

It would also be good to gauge some interest before putting a buy together....if there's only yourself interested you'll probably get no discount at all.

Put out a mail in the group buy section to gauge interest...if you get good response, manage to find the standard price and a supplier I'll look into it further.

Can be no fairer than that. :)

Thanks Adrian.

Where is the group buy section?

My gut feeling from talking to Dragon (MrHoot) in the past is that their eBay buy-it-now price is really the lowest they like to go. I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong, but that's a 50 quid saving on the retail price :D

Chris

Thanks Adrian.

Where is the group buy section?

Look under The Forecourt section....go to Forums and then scroll down page and you should find both.

If they could sell, say, 10 or more in a bulk buy, they may be more inclined to reduce the cost. Rather than set precedence for individuals to say "I heard you knocked x amount off for so and so, can you do it for me?". As I severely doubt they cost that amount to produce, there must be leeway for pricing?

Worth a try!

Might be an idea to drop them a line and discuss possible options for 5, 10, or more units.

I think once we have got 10 or so interested we should ask one of the staff where we go from there.

I would be most gratefull if one of them would take it on, using their experience, as a staff group buy!

I don't think we should contact dragon performance at this stage it may be best to leave it to the more experienced, Adrian did say he would have a look at it for us provided we get the numbers.

Paul.

I'd say that the the first thing you should do is contact Dragon and see if they're interested in doing a group buy. If they don't want to do it, at least you find out at the start. They'll also give you an idea of prices and numbers required, which is stuff that anyone interested in the group buy will want to know.
