I've got an uprated clutch ready to be fitted as the oe one is slipping. It makes sense to change the flywheel whilst the clutch is out but unless it's knackered I can't justify another couple of hundred quid or so. However, if changing to an smf brings other benefits then it would be perhaps worthwhile.

I've read it can be noisy, but it also makes the engine more responsive. The reliability advantage is obvious of course.

Just keep to hear a range of experience from anyone that's had one done, particularly to a mk2 vrs tsi Octy.

I had a Sachs DMF fitted.  Works really well.
