Hi all 

Had my vRS 5 days, notice today when i took it out for a spin, when i accelerated there was a rattling noise coming from the front end..

Does any other Octavia have this, or does anyone know what it can be...

I didn't notice before as i had the radio on....

Probably the fake engine noise box thing

sounds more like its coming from nearer the front of the engine.. like a tapping rattle

Is it louder when in sport mode?

dont know..

Mine does it too. A common issue with them is a vibration is caused by the sound generator. What mode the car is in doesn't effect the volume of the noise for me.

I will book it in at some point, it's not really bothered me thus far so I'll get it sorted when I have some spare time

Stone trapped between disc and stone guard (ironic I know)?

I just drove 30 miles home and the rattly has seen to gone away..

could have been a stone...!!

I'll wait and see if the noise returns tomorrow..
