What a car!

 

Handover very smooth, no issues, dealer was very very good, and as my little boy was waiting patiently in the side room on his DS one of the guys came out and gave him a massive bag of lefrover promotional booty, rapid cap, yeti key rings, lanyards, some sort of fleece snood, writing books and pens etc. He was over the moon.

 

Had to pootle around to do a few bits with the wife and son this afternoon (get rid of old car etc etc). Then came home and set it up, put logos on the DAB presets, put the music on the SD card and thats all fine with the album art working OK. Then took it out for little B road blast in sport mode, I think for doing that the sound generator is great, and you can turn it right down for day to day so can't see the issue with it. Really really good intuitive car to drive, suprising performance and smooth power delivery for a diesel of it's size. I have no gripes at all.

 

It really is a truly very very good car full stop, let alone for the money it costs.

 

Will post some pics in the next few days once it's ligh and not condition like there's a southern ocean storm outside.

done 250 miles so far got 49 mpg yesterday 

my Astra used to do 28 mpg

It's a beauty, smiles all round and definitlely more poke than I expected. The digitial speed in the colour maxidot spins round very quickly!

 

Dealer actually left me with 1/4 of a tank or so, and just filled it up now. Only mid 30s mpg on the miles I did today but they weren't "normal" driving.

 

I'm pretty certain it will be about the same, if not slightly more economical than the car Ive just got rid of which was a 2009 Mondeo 2.0 TDCI Titanium, and I was also paying £175 pa road tax on that!

I said would wait until there was light and no storm to post pics, didn't think it would be this long. Just given it it's first wash as it's the first day it hasn't rained since I had the car.

My last vRS was a KW reg. Always thought it looked and sounded nice...

Did you order from a dealer in Cambrideshire or Bedfordshire?

Could have gone to ALS near Ely as they offer top service - but all academic now

I was Progress too the Bedford one. Very good service, ordered Nov 17 picked up 26 Jan!

Ive heard bad things re Vindis as well, although not re Skoda's mate's missus bought a Polo from them had all sorts of warranty shenanigans when it went wrong.
