2nd Service and Sympathetic upgrades

Featured Replies

So, here we are at about 18 months old (collected in June 2012) and about 17000 miles (but reduced from c500 miles a week to maybe 500 miles a month).

I got a WBAC valuation, for my own interest and compared it against the hateful HP I stupidly signed up to when I bought it (sounds silly, went Forces broker, got a good PX deal on the Superb, good price on the Fabia etc).

Today it is £8300 from WBAC and over £10k on the HP.  So nowhere near breakeven and not looking goof for the next year either...

It's not all bad though, as I like the car, there are just a few things I might look into doing, as it now makes sense to "keep it forever" like we planned to to begin with.  I'd like people's thoughts and advice (or disuasion) on the following:

1.  New wheels.  16" (to get back some ride comfort on the rubbish roads) - possibly VAG, possibly OZ Superturismos.

2.  DAB and BT conversion (I love this feature in my wife's Golf and miss it when I drive them back to back).

3.  Cruise control (same as above - would be handy).

4.  Remap - I mean why not lift from 105 to 130bhp??

5.  Leather seats - what fits?  Are Fabia VRS seats suede like the Mk1's or leather?  Do any Fabias ever have leather?  Anyone know of rough cost?

Finally, it goes in for Service Inspection no.2 in a couple of weeks - including pollen filter.  £200 odd.  Sound about right?

Brimma has very nice Leather fitted in his Fabia Estate, fitted by himself.

Never an option on the MK2 vRS, the seats are cloth.

I have looked at Seat Surgeons and fired them an email.  When I get home I can trawl the web for potential parts - seats etc.
