Fleet or Private Sale

Featured Replies

I would be interested in a little market resarch to see how many of you all have the Octy II as a company car or have bought one privately like me for my growing family!?

Only as it proves the Octy is coming up in the world as more people buying a new car privatly may mean more confidence in the product, as you need to keep hold of it a while so the depreciation doesn't hurt so much. Fleet cars don't have to give a monkeys about depreciation and know they can replace it in three years.

Or maybe its because I panic about how much I am losing in depreciation :(

Fleet car. I'd never buy a new car with my own money.

Fleet Car, I was given a budget and some guide lines to meet. Researched a lot of cars and picked the skoda.

Maybe this post requires a poll?

Personally it don't really matter as if you have a company car you pay for it in tax, if you don't then you pay with depreciation, makes no odds really :)

I buy my own ;-)

According to the accounts woman the company car is going to cost me

I got a choice of company car or car allowance so I took the money and bought my octy.

Wouldn't your company car form part of your salary package as well and therefore you'll also be paying for it in a salary reduction?

Thankfully not, there's even talk of a salary increase to lessen the blow of the extra tax I have to pay!

Anyway after alot of research I decided to buy an octy L & K estate privately. I thought I'd get a car thats hopefully going to be reliable and has got everything I could need' date=' as I intend to keep it until it goes to the great car park in the sky.[/quote']

I got promoted a while back and part of the deal was a

Private money here.

Bought mine myself, although I do get an allowance from the company to run a car.

Privately owned. As were my three previous cars, A Cavalier, a Vectra (ugh) and a Mk1 Ocky.

Before that had company cars but the tax hit was not so great as now. Now run my own business and it makes more sense for me to own the car than the company.
