Thinking about a Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Thought I'd see whats what with these cars- had a SEAT Ibiza with the 90HP diesel engine a while ago.

Have you driven one? Thats gotta be your first stop.

Welcome to Briskoda.

Definately test drive one.

I had a 2002 Ibiza 110 TDI Sport before my vRS. The vRS is in a different league TBH.

Hello

Certainly not an expert or "techi" so can't answer the complicated questions but I had one and loved it. It's not for the "hardcore" hot hatch with his big wheels and big sound system but for me it was perfect. Terrific in gear speed, one of the best rides but still with good sharp handling. Not as pin sharp as a Clio 182 etc but it's not that sort of car. Oh I nearly forgot great economy and wonderful build quality. Would have kept it but changed it for a 3 series. Not that keen on bmw generally but there is one particular engine I'd always wanted the 6 cylinder 330 Diesel and I saw a high miler in my budget. It's certainly a smoother engine (in fact terrifically smooth) and the power is there from 1500 to 4500 revs rather than in a lump but I would still say that in the right gear and at the right part of the torque band the Vrs is still faster.

A great little car.

Hope that helps.

...just had to have one. Seriously, once you test drive one (I took out a 30000 mile car that was still taught and completely rattle free) you will develop a need for the vRS.

I have test driven a large array of cars, mostly diesel, to assess for driving tuition, and can say that with the exception of the Toyota Yaris 1.4 td, the vRS is quieter and smoother than any of the others, including the Astra 1.7 cdti sporthatch 100bhp version.

Also the small matter of good ride with good handling, and of course the performance, which in its sector, is pretty much as good as any of its petrol rivals and better than most at the price.

Chris

Definitely go for a test drive. The only trouble is that you WILL want one if you do!
