My girlfriend took her corsa back to main dealer for a recall on the bonet. A drainage hole had to be bored into it on the nose. Finally got round to cleaning hers after spending 2 hours on the fabia. It appears when they have bored the hole they have hit the skin on the bonet from the side making a very small raised dent on the outside of the bonet. Thats gotta be worth getting them to fix it or summat. They cant possilby say it was already there.

If it bothers you, pull them up on it. I would be doing that.

After drilling, have they put on a little rust inhibitor or primer then some paint to stop it rusting.?

If not,

tell them to act a bit more professionally and get it done.

Yeah defo it doesnt look like a pro job the hole hasnt even been deburred properly. It has been treated though and looks like wax oil been squirted into the hole. The car is only 18 months old so needs putting right.

Go back to the dealer and say you are not happy with the work they did.

Waxoyl or sealer on bare metal is not a good job, or even a correct job.

If Vauxhall think that is an Appropriate Recall Solution, they are pretty daft.

'

Tell the plonker there is a 'Perforation of panel Warranty,'

and they just drilled a hole, maybe one there already as designed, but now it is bigger,

and taken paint off the underside of the outer skin

and thats a perforation, they made it, and a potential for corrosion, not stopped by their waxoyl

& not an acceptable repair.

So they can get an Vauxhall Approved Body shop to do it properly.   Ar5e5.

20-30 minute job to do properly, done over an hour allowing paint to dry,  done wrongly probably in a few minutes and

Vauxhall pay on the job being done correctly i would hope when they do a recall.

EDIT.

When drilling like that from behind,  it is dead simple,

you put some masking tape around your drill bit only leaving a few mm

at the tip, just enough to make the hole, or enlarge a hole. & it stops it  or helps you as it goes through and not making a pimple/dimple.

Thanks guys im gonna ring them tomorrow when the service manager is there and take the car back. Vauxhall would assume a proper job it being done, not a quick fix putting a hole there when the dealer is then getting the full time back from vauxhall. Why cant people do a proper job its not hard is it!!!!! It winds me up. I werent gonna check at first but curiosity got the better of me and as i thought a p#ss poor job.......
