Does This Work

Featured Replies

Hi All,

A while ago I purchased the following products without ever asking 'are they suitable together'. Just purchased Autoglym quick detailer and a red Octy :) so this has prompted me to ask, will these will work well together?

For the main treatment

Meguiars Ultimate Compound Polish

Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection

Colinite 476 - or I have Finishcare 1000p

Autoglym quick detailer for use after washes.

Thanks

Never used the Meg's Compound Polish, if it is for compounding then by hand it may be unsuitable and by machine may well require a refining Final Finish type polish afterwards.

You also have three LSP's there, Collinite and Finish Kare would be my preference and I would go for a couple of coats of one of those, rather than try to combine them.  Not mad on EGP, you could use it to seal your wheels though, seen as you have the bottle, perhaps go one coat EGP, one coat FK1000 for those.

Hope that's a little help.

Hi Thanks for the reply, I was really just making sure that the QD would be ok on top of either one of those waxes. I would not use both of those - I recall buying the Finishkare originally for the wheels but never got round to it!

Just a further thought if any of those works better on red?

Thanks

Ditch the Megs compound..Its quite aggressive, unless you have some scratches..then seek advice

Apply the Finish Kare first and then the Collinite as atopper a few hours later

However, as said, you really don't need both

One or the other

AGEGP is poorstuff IMO.Just use your QD as a drying aid after a wash

Use either the colly or the EGP.

EGP is a simple easy to use sealant that will last as long as colly if applied correctly.

However, the solvents in colly will affect it.

So pick one, and use that.
