10K or 12 months - Whchever comes first. IE if you do 10K in 8 months then you get your first service at 8 months. If, however, you only have 8K done at 12 months, you are then due your first service, even though you only have 8K done

what if the yeti has been set to variable servicing and doesnt indicate that it needs a service ?

My understanding when I had the deal was 3 years time limit, be that 2 or 3 services. As it's free though, no harm in having a service every 12 months even though set up on variable, and the mileage may be low. Never a bad idea to have a yearly oil change, even though the mileage may not warrant it.

If you have the service pack the car is supposed to be set to T&D servicing rather than variable. I fell into this exact trap. I had 3 years free servicing but the car was set to variable servicing. I took it in when the dashboard told me, at 18k miles, and was informed I had effectively missed the first service. This is not a warranty issue but does mean I miss out on a service. At this service the car was set to T&D so I'll get one more service before the 3 years is up.

I contacted my supplying dealer and they agreed they should've set it up at PDI and said to contact them when the 3rd service was due and they would "see what they could do".

Are we supposed to receive paperwork from Skoda to show that we have the free servicing deal, or it will show up by car registration when booked into a dealership?

They all come from the factory set like that. If you're on the 3 years fixed servicing plan the dealer should set the service interval to fixed as part of thr PDI, but many forget. What's important is you follow the 12 month/10k miles limit and don't wait forthe light if its still on variable otherwise skoda finance (who pay for the service) may well refuse to pay. There was at least one guy with an octy who went over the 10k in the 1st 12 months and had a bit of a struggle to get them to pay for his service, so its not worth the risk IMO. I remember seeing elsewhere someone say that the fixed pricing policy is for cars on the fixed service intervals, though I 've not seen proof of that but its worth bearing in mind if your keeping the car over the 3 years

I have a couple of bits of paperwork for mine :-

  1. a copy of the 'Free Servicing Registration Form' that was completed when I collected the car, and
  2. a letter from Skoda dated around 3 weeks later

The latter explains exactly what is included :-

  1. 3 x services
  2. 1 x oil change at 10k miles or 12 months
  3. 1 x inspection service at 20k miles or 24 months
  4. 1 x oil change at 30k miles or 36 months
  5. 1 x dust & pollen filter at 36 months
  6. 1 x brake fluid change if required

+1 to this, I also received this letter in the post from Skoda a few weeks after picking up the car. Did you not get one Marie? If not, I'd contact the dealer or maybe even SUK directly.

I received two identical letters the same as those mentioned above.

When I've phoned to book a service they told me which plan I was on.

Nope, I haven't received this letter.

Will chase it up with Skoda.

With my spare letter I wonder if I could get 6monthly services

No, it's all done on the computer
