2012 Vauxhall Antara 2.2 SENAV Auto

Featured Replies

Well just changed from this vehicle to Superb.

The vehicle itself is a twin to the Chevrolet Captiva but with two less seats. Dash is hard plastic that does scratch, seats the base side bolsters do crease on the leather very easily and suspect over long term may cause problems.

In the Year i had mine it had to go back to have tailgate resprayed as known issue with chrome trim strip rubbing and causing rust spots. Pointed this out at 3 months old had to wait till six months for them to respray once blister had occured rather than just discolouration.

The major drawback however is fuel economy it seems like they just adapted this to become euro V compliant by fitting DPF in exhaust under drivers seat. This in my view after 30 years engineering, that is too far back in exhaust to generate enough heat for passive regens. So they implement a system where it will do an active regen approx every 500 miles, regardless of how you have been driving I would often complete a 300 mile journey only for it to start regen one mile from home. This resulted in an average fuel economy over the 18,000 miles of ownership of 26mpg.

A different marque of  vehicle i had prior to this also had dpf and no such problems.
