2 quick Q's

Featured Replies

First very quick - is there a way to switch off the passenger seat electrics? My passenger keeps moving the seat by mistake when getting in and out - the switch is far too high. If not I may have to put a switch in myself

Secondly - has anyopne here removed the silver strips on the doors and dash? (they may be a fifferent colour on some vehicles). I am going to turn them walnut, but need to remove them safely first. Maybe a link to a part would show me what I need to know

Thanks

Sorry I don't hVe a superb but for the second question, the door strips on the octy are actually riveted in to position. I know one person has taken the rivets out and glued back in place.

To your first question I would say try looking for the electrics under the seat. May be a block connector that you could undo. But you will lose full manoeuvrability of your seat.

Reference the seats, I don't think so

Reference the dash trim - the trim on the actual dashboard can be removed but on the doors, it is moulded to the door card. SO the entire door card would need replacing.

Another option is finding a local who wraps cars with the 3M foil. You could have them redo the door panel trim pieces, doesn't break the bank either.

Regarding the seat, I'd take a look at the fusebox to see if there's a separate fuze for the passenger electrics, or maybe unplug the connector under the seat - carefull it doesn't mess with the airbag, and with the heating option...and you will get a fault in the diagnostics obviously...
