How much for cambelt and water pump replacement

Featured Replies

Hi guys. Soon i will be needing to replace the cambelt and waterpump. I know skoda quoted me £440 for it. Also i rang up another independent garage in leeds and they quoted £411. Not much different at all. What surprised me that this garage asking £144 for labour. Now i read that the cambelt doesnt take that long and if decent garage charges 45-50£ per hour it works out 3 hours labour!! Also i found old invoice from prev owner and he was charged only 220£. So now i am bit confused. How should i expect to pay?

Fixed price from Skoda is £350 + £100 for the water pump.

Best price I've seen is £300 from an independent Audi specialist in Gloucester including the water pump .

You missed the advertisment at the top of the forum pages then :giggle:

Wait for it to cycle round; Autohaus Dolby in Sheffield, genuine timing belt, waterpump and G13 coolant - £296.
