passengers window smashed

Featured Replies

i pulled over to speak to someone walking along the pavement yesterday and clicked to send my passengers window down. All went well and i drove away whilst clicking for it to go back up. it goes to half way and smash! the bottom half of the window is in pieces inside the door and the top half has slid down into the door.

i rang the garage who i bought it from (04 73k) who are going to take a look under warranty.

is this a common problem?

is it replaceable under warranty?

any help would be much appreciated

Not heard of that happening before.  Sounds like something got gummed up somewhere. :(

U bought car recently?

1st time operate window?

bought it 3 weeks ago and have used the window a few times

Potentially get it fix as a gesture of goodwill (rather thn warranty).

But if it coulf be proved as a fault that caused the damage - then warranty (possibly).

Would depend on if main dealer,

Wot warranty items covered,

Generosity of dealer.

But thats just my opinion

i forgot i posted on this forum!!

took the car back to the garage who told me the window has not smashed, instead it was a cable the sound of the glass was the cable rubbing against the window inside the door??

all was well untill a friend tried to open the door and couldnt get out. turns out they did not attach the door cable !!
