Driver door control panel electrics

Featured Replies

Hi

The driver control panel switches are not working correctly i.e. the window controls for two of the windows and sometimes the driver window.  Also the driver central locking not working and the door mirror control.

Using the remote to lock the doors sets the alarm up but does not lock the central locking.

This all went at the same time.

I have had a brief glance at the wiring loom connection between the pillar and the door but this seems to be ok.

Its going in to my local garage next week but would welcome any opinions.

Thanks

Either door control module has issue which does all this:

 - Handles mirror control and connections;

 - Window motor;

 - Puddle lamp(s);

 - connects to the door switches for windows and mirrors;

...has an issue or:

The loom between the door and the car which runs through a rubber tube has failed.  This one is quite common apparently and would be a bit of a pain in the arse to replace.  You have said you looked at this one already.

Thanks for the reply....   I did suspect this unit could be the cause.. does this affect the driver central locking which is a seperate switch on the door?

Thanks

I think that everything in the door connects to the module.  Then the module connects to CAN bus and power.

Had it fixed today.. turned out is was indeed a broken wire on the door harness connection between door and pillar.

I did have a look myself but in the wind and rain so missed this.

Great to have a good old fashion, honest and  local garage.. been using for 25 years :rock:
