Average time from build to delivery?

Featured Replies

My vRS is gettting built as I type-or so I'm informed. Despite my doubts my build week was moved forward and it's actually being built.

So what are peoples experience on delivery from build confirmation to delivery? I'm away for a couple of weeks from the 15th of March so just my luck it will fall within that time. It was originally due to be built the last week of this month so wasn't anticipating delivery until the start of April.

It's been that long since ordering I'd almost forgot about it and the excitement has all but dwindled! So now it is being built it's time to get excited again. To that end would like to hear people experience/wait from build to deliver.

Cheers

Mine is also being built this week; I asked the same question on another thread and was informed it would be three to four weeks from build to delivery.

From what I've worked out If it's built at the start of the week and shipping is smooth it might arrive at your dealer at the end of next week ( the week following build). It may take another week or even longer if transport delays happen.  Dealers then pdi and register, some in a couple of days, some a couple of weeks. So.... collection about a month after start of bw  ...ish.

My order was made in oct and went to Skoda oct 28, arrived in docks in Dublin last friday and arrived at dealer yesterday 10th feb. So 13 weeks or thereabouts. And that was after a 2 week delay getting the anthracite alloys due to high demand.

Did the boat your car was on get hijacked by somali pirates or something, 1/4 of a year in transit !!!! WTF

Who is this for? I was build wk3.

Sorry I mis-read your post, I thought you car had been made in October and shipped on the 28th October, as the thread is about transit times ie. "Average time from build to delivery?" I hadn't considered an answer to include the order to build period.  My mistake.

Cool, no problem! Funny if the ship had been though, imagine hearing your car was in possession of pirates!

Most of us,  who now got our cars had to wait around 20 weeks from order to pickup

some were lucky to get there's a little quicker...

But well worth the wait...

3 weeks in,  I love my vRS

I was figuring ~4 weeks but on no real basis of fact. I'm away on the 15th of March on holdiay so hopefully it will come by then, been a long wait..... Things are starting to go wrong with my current car almost by the day so it can't coem soon enough.

Gwald, I've been quoted 3 weeks, thats two for transport from factory to dealers and a week for the dealers to do their bits'n'bobs however, the two weeks transport does depend on the weather in the North Sea. Apparently, German seaboat Captain's don't like going out in stormy weather unlike "during the war" said in my very best Uncle Albert voice.

3-4 weeks is the average depending on trains, boats and lorries
