Parrot Handsfree & Aftermarket Stereo -

Featured Replies

Hi all, sorry if this has been covered previously:

I have a Parrot CK100 ? I think handfree kit, my bro sold his car so I had the kit,

We took it out all wired up so all I had to do was plug in the iso blocks.

After doing so it was obvious that other people could hear me but I could not hear them through the car system, and the headunit would not display phone etc etc

So I changed the Mute in from 1 to 2 ( parrot has 3 mute in lines) and after a quick search online discovered that mute 2 is the phone, mute 1 and 3 do other things such as OBD and something else.

This change showed BT audio on my headunit and again the callers could hear me but I couldnt hear them.

after a bit of thought, I remembered that my speakers all run off an amp in the boot, and not from the iso blocks on the back on the HU.....

Am I correct in thinking that this is why I can't hear anyone on the phone.... because it has muted the stereo, but the parrot is putting the phone sound into the iso car speaker feed which currently has no speakers on the end of it....

I then remembered I have a CB radio speaker from years ago, and that  I could get a VW speaker adapter lead:

and then wire in a 3.5mm female socket

so I could use this external speaker I had to hear the phone calls

Can anyone confirm my theory? and if it would work do I simply solder the red / black wires from the adapter into that jack?

Thanks in advance

Rob

The theory sounds logical! Could you connect another speaker to the iso line to test? If it works, then find somewhere under the dash to mount it. Although it would also work with the stereo...unless the Parrot has its own built in amp, then you could possibly cut the ISO speaker output from the headunit so it only work with the parrot?
