Another noobie

Featured Replies

Hi there. My name is Richard; I'm 27 and live in Lincoln. Replaced my underpowered Ford Fiesta (57BHp I think) with a second user Fabia 1.9TDi a couple of months back and am absolutely delighted with it! Infinitely more pleasant to drive.

I joined the forum to help get advice on one or two little niggles, so you'll probably be hearing more from me. Sadly, I've got the infamous dashboard rattle that seems to afflict so many Fabias, and there is an as-yet unidentified rattle coming from the back end somewhere (dealer to inspect in next week). I've also been reading about concealing minor sratches in the paintwork (of which I have only one or two) and am going post about cleaning the seats soon, cos I've gone and put a flippin' water mark on the passenger seat.

You all seem a friendly bunch, so am looking forward to spending more time on the board. I know almost sod all about cars, so I'll probably be calling on your collected expertise a lot!!

Cheers for now.

Welcome :)

Dash board rattle can de recfitifed by removing the centre dash vent and adjusting the centre mount.

For the rear rattle see if it does it with the seats folded down. If it doesnt try adjusting the rubber stopper by unscrewing it out a bit.

Hi there !

Am sure you will get all the advise you need - a thread on car seats was posted/ discussed not that long ago. Do a search and you will find loads

Oh yes, Welcome and congrats on the Fabia !

Well, I've just tried it briefly with the seats down and there was no rattle. I'll try it again in the morning when the problem is usually worse and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've tried a couple of times to remove the front vent, but am concerned about scratching the fascia or snapping the plastic grills. Might give it another go shortly.

Thank you to the others too, who've made me feel most welcome.

Welcome - you'll get good advice here

Hi and welcome.

Yes they are all clever on here.

Think Skoda would do well in employing some of them.

Have fun and use the search button as this will be your best friend.
