Front Lower Octy Strut Brace anyone?

Featured Replies

Rob,

I am of the opinion that a chocolate tea pot would be of more use.

PS At least you could eat the tea pot

im pretty sure a good number of people have fitted them on here and will give their opinions. im guessing its the same as the S3 one that is :)

'tis the S3 one. And combined with an upper S3 one it stiffens up your front end nicely!

Oh well, I tried.

I guess if they fit them on the S3 and the LCR they must do something, otherwise why bother?

You're quite right, they do fit them but look at where they are fitted. Have a look under the front member, the bolt holes for this particular strap are to close to the bend where as say the Neuspeed is located right at the end of the arm giving maximum bracing. Plus the S3 brace is just a flat piece of metal offering little resistance to bending in direct contrast to the Neuspeed round bar.

It's not completely flat - flat on the bottom and rounded on top if I recall correctly.

Not as strong as a round one though

Don't forget the black foam pad. Wonder why they put that on  wouldn't have any thing to do with the fact that it flexes so much it hits the dog mount would it.......Nah couldn't be, this is an Audi item after all. :o
