Replacement Towbar

Featured Replies

My car has a Brink swan-neck towbar which was once detachable.  However I do not have the key and a previous owner has filled the lock with sealant.

It will doubtless work OK as a towbar (and as far as I know, the electrics - including a 13-pin adaptor - appear to work OK) but it might be nice if I could remove it when not required.  A local specialist towbar fitter advises that it cannot be removed without destroying it, and a replacement would be around £100.

Does anyone know, please, if and/or where it might be possible to obtain a second-hand swan neck (with lock and key) at a sensible price?  Obviously, I do not need the car mounted socket part.

Thanks - I'll ask my local towbar-fitting specialist workshop if they know whether these Brink swan-necks are interchangeable.
