That piece of sponge?

Featured Replies

Why have Skoda deemed it a good idea to put that piece of foam/sponge between the front wing and the door post? If you feel up the gap between the sill and the arch liner it's sopping wet. Surely not a very good design. Both my mk1 fabia's and my Caddy have had a block of foam between the arch liner and the top underside of the wing, presumably to stop vibrations. It's not a good idea as it traps moisture. The vertical piece running down from the top of the wing to the sill on the Citigo seems not very clever to me :o

Agree but there's not much we can do about it apart from wiping them out.

I found it about year ago.

It is very good way to start corrossion in that place. In my up! I made a little modification on it. I wrapped it with aluminium tape and then black vinyl.

Now its waterproof and no moisture there and looks like original black foam.

Haven't spotted this yet. I must have a look.
