VRS extreme wheels & CO2 / Tax Impact

Featured Replies

Hey folks,

Obviously now they are available from order i'll be ticking the big wheel box but does anyone know if they impact the official co2 of 119g?

I can't see anything on the skoda site?

Cheers for any info.

James

Can't see they would, no other option does....

I could be wrong but....

The type approval, emissions and mileage test are all carried out at standard (minus some vitals fluids!) trim and while some options and accessories will effect these things they won't effect what tax or VED you pay as they haven't been tested.

I'm sure added roof bars/bike carriers etc will have a far bigger impact but I've never been charged extra come road tax time!

Sorry, when I said tax I should have clarified Benifit in Kind tax, as my motor is company paid.

Often bigger wheels reduce the 'official' efficiency and so the angle to which one should bend for the government I increased, you see.

As Mike said...there isn't any car specific data that would show what impact bigger wheels would have.

It shouldn't matter which tax as there isn't any test data for every combination of options from Skoda. On a standard car if you turn ever switch on that you can and ramp the air con up the CO2 will not be 119g so I wouldn't worry about adding different wheels!

That said I do remember seeing different mpg and emissions figures for some manufacturers depending on options but I'm not sure if that was for info or actually reflected on the V5.

I suppose a call to SkodaUK would give you the answer.

Citroen DS5 has different official emissions levels based on wheel size, don't know what determines whether they test a car with diff wheels or not

The only difference is to the P11D value not the BIK rate.
