light switch unit removal?

Featured Replies

AS above, how do you pop out the headlight/fog switch unit?

My beam adjuster rolly switch seems to have decided it cant be bothered doing its job any more,

so want to check it out...

Push it in, turn to sidelights position then pull.

Push headlight switch in and turn slightly then pull towards you, then the housing has little locking tabs to lever down to release.

sweet, trying not to wreck the dash while getting it out :)

Have had the roller switch out, and coated it with contact cleaner, no joy with movement on either headlight.

Given both lights are working, that eliminates a dead fuse as the problem, meaning either fubarred switch, or motor.

so just wanting to check is there a level motor on each head light, or just one?

Its down pouring at the mo, so im not lifting the bonnet now, but if theres 2 motors it brings it back to the switch.

(odds on 2 motors failing at the same time?....)

Can you hear any noise from the motors when you move the adjuster?

dont think so..

There are 2 motors and I would think they are fused separately from the lights.

Checked the fuse diagram in the manual, one is for RHS low beam and range adjustment, and 1 for LHS Low beam only.

thats what made me think there might be only one motor, even though it made no sense to me!!

No the motor is inside the light housing, there are definitely two motors. They used to be out of sync on my old car.

Oh and the fuse layout in the printed handbook which came with my old car was complete cobblers. The PDF version available online is correct though.
