Makes corners feel like straights

best is down a bumpy country road... its illiminates all the wallowy wobble the standard car has, and flatens everything our, really inproves its ability on a bumpy country road :) then there's the track, tail out with trail braking anyone? :)

Woop woop!, another convert :)

I might just have to treat myself to one I these! Anybody know how much the H&R RARB is at the moment? Awesome GTI seem to now just list both front and rear H&R bars together. Might be worth a call to them. Anybody got experience of the front bar?

sy had the front and rear together, said they were awesome, BUT the front is much more complicated to fit...

Would putting these on void your warrenty? Im assuming you would need to declare this your insurance.

1. What's likely to break?

2. Yes

Skoda would need to prove the bar caused the part you were claiming for to fail (or at least contributed to its failure). I doubt they could blame oil useage or an exploding DSG on a RARB lol!

If in doubt the bar could be removed prior to visiting the stealers...... :-)

Cheers guys the car standard is a wollowy pig so anything helps. Have you put them front and rear or just rear.

Just rear, in combination with a Bilstein B12 spring/shocker set

Where can I get one from?

you must declare, its SO visible from the back... whn my roof was recently damaged, and my repairer (skoda approved through ensure) said "nice RARB... did you fit that yourself? " I was glad I declared, as I had the feeling its prescence was reported to my insurers ;)

How much does it add to the insurance cost? I'm with Admiral who did say lowering it would only be about an extra fiver for the Eibach's. a RARB may confuse them as they don't even recognise a remap yet. Chipped cars are fine of course

Fitted all at the same time or individually so the effect of each can be known?

The B12's may be having a significant effect?

I was charged a12% increase martyn, but then my insurance is pretty specific, what with learners driving it, and business use for the ambulance service ect ...... I'm sure it could be got cheaper! my annual insurance WITH the RARB is £470.

I'm with admiral too. Got my eibachs for free.  25quid for the 'anti sway bar'. If you say 'rear anti ROLL bar', they just search for the word 'Roll' and come up with 'roll cage' and will refuse to cover.

Ahh that's useful - I'm with admiral too so useful to know what to ask them for - I fear RARB might confuse them bless their cotton socks :-)

Admiral do seem to be reasonable with mods - they only charged me an extra £8 to add the Milltek exhaust on to my previous hatch.

The B12s were fitted some time ago

They lowered it nicely (not too much), but didn't eliminate the roll

The ARB takes it away considerably, leading to a massive improvement in cornering enjoyment   :)

So how much do the Eibachs lower by? I don't want too big a drop but has to be noticeable.

20mm so not too much :) my insurance company knew what the RARB was ;) no charge for the skoda fit option eibachs either :)

I think anti sway bar is just what the Americans call anti roll bar :)

Brimma, glad to hear you are very happy with the rarb! Did the B12 kit make much difference to the cars feel?! I am looking to do a B12 kit in near future, after looking and reading about other springs/dampers i concluded this would be the best all rounder package and I had the Eibach pro spring/damper kit on my mk1 and was very happy with that but sounds like should have tried the rarb and definitely need to try one on my mk2!
