Do either mean anything to u?

Yes, both tecnically - Ad Lav is my nickname and forum name. SE and 07 is obviously for the car, with Lav being part of my nickname and surname.

AD02 LAV

It means more to YOU, not car specific like the other one. You won't keep that car for the rest of your life, but you might want to keep AD02 LAV.

+1

Even as an investment [sE07 LAV] dosent seem to be anything spdcial

+2 ^^^

I was after AD07LAV but it appears to be gone - so thought i'd start at the bottom :)

Only £250 too which is a bonus!

We've just bought a DVLA plate which has both mine and SWMBO's initials on. The logic being that it doesn't stand out as a private plate, doesn't change the apparent age of the car, but could be transferred to another vehicle in the future if we wanted to.

The first two initials are mine, then the 57, then SWMBO's three initials. The alternative was to keep the original plate which ended in YUC.

Go for the AD LAV one....

It depends what you want.

If you plan to keep it and swap it from one car to another... AD02LAV.

Although it does make the car look older.

To put on the car and leave on it when you sell, rather than pay for swapping... SE07LAV.

Because it's going on an E and it's an 07 plate.

That's why I left SE09FAB on the Fabia when I sold it.

Like the idea of a private plate but with either of those, it will only be someone who knows you that will be able to tell it's a private plate...

Yes

AdLav bear in mind EXTRA costs if u remove plates afterwards and want to keep plate

Depends

Does AdLav want to flaunt his private plate?

Or just personal gratification :-)

Flaunt knowing him!!

Flaunt knowing him!!

Then that plate no good

Get something like [bA0 8OYS]

Lol

I'd personally go with AD02 LAV as it is more personal to you.

Thanks for the comments guys - and vrsrs you are a bloody monkey!

I think I'll go for the Ad Lav plate even though it shows it to be older - my reason being is that if I get another car it can be AD03/04/05LAV depending on how many cars I get

I like your plan!

I am sure you could spend £250 far more wisely. Like beer, an indian meal new tyres.

Vanity plates to me are just that and the 2 you have suggested are a poor attempt and not worth £250

Would u agree if they offer to buy u a beer each?

:-)

Lol - I gather from that comment they are low on your list :(

Well, a poor attempt perhaps but I've always wanted one and to be honest, I've spent £250 on worse things! Like beer and currys... ;)

I try!!  :giggle:

I would go with the AD 02 LAV one.  My only problem with private plates is when people space them out or put screws in to attempt a name or whatever.  The best ones are always subtle.

Sadly, my normal user name nowadays is a £500 plate. :(

I've found that having a vanity plate has probably saved me money. I don't notice the age of the car every time I see it anymore. A silly little bit of psychology but now I only worry about the condition of the car not the age.

Agree with the above - don't want to use spacers or dots to change it so it'll be simple and spaced correctly.

Digging up an old one as saves making a new thread...

Looking to buy a number plate this summer, birthday coming and actually don't need or want anything else - giving the wife some notice this time :)

Where's the best place to buy a plate that stars like this:

A5 LAV etc (change number to what's available)

Dvla don't sell A reg plates :(

Still tempted by AD02 LAV but makes the car look older lol
