I need a jack.

Featured Replies

I've bought a spare but need a jack.

I've seen jack kits on eBay but they are £50!

What I want to know is does any old vw jack fit? Or indeed any old jack.

Yes.

I bought a used citigo alloy for £40, and a vw golf mk4 jack for a tenner

Works fine

Only small issue is it wont fit inside the alloy when stored in boot, as its too long

Probably be better with a Polo or Fabia one

I've still got a golf 4 jack somewhere in the garage so I'm sorted for the time being.

Damo, for a Sport, will any scissor jack do, or must it be VW? What's special about the Vw one?

I think any should be fine tbh

I just bought a VW Golf one as it was the nearest to me on eBay that's all

As I said, try and get a smallish Jack, as the golf one won't sit inside the diameter of the alloy, when placed in boot wheel-well

I just have mine in a bag in back of boot instead

Not a problem for me

Kept the whole slime/compressor and polystyrene holder in the garage until the car goes back
