Anyone know what the difference is between a resonated milltek exhaust and non resonated for a Octavia vrs mk1

The resonated one has a middle silencer, the non resonated one doesn't so is a bit louder and a bit cheaper :)

One;s noisy, one isn;t basically

There is a resonator before the back box on the resonated system (the same as a standard setup).

If you're worried about it being too loud, the turbo acts as a silencer, so even non-resonated systems aren't very loud on a 1.8t.

Thanks for that guys

I have a miltek cat back non res and it's quiet I have to have the windows down to appreciate the noise so the resonated one must be silent

Might just have to sit it in redline lol

4-6k sounds at its best... Only problem with that it's time for a gear change

Resonated on mine, sounds very similar to standard exhaust. Piper non res makes some good noise, think Bowders and Rob Clubley have put video clips of Piper system on here some where if you try a search.

Yeah tbh don't like taking car above 5k seems to lack of power after that and that's all good then because I pick a non resonated milltek up on Sunday

I have had milltek none resonated and resonated and to be honest not much difference in them. The none resonated is just like having a std exhaust but far better quality. The none resonated is more noticeable at higher revs but no way i would say loud.

I have had Blue flame which was louder still but not intrusive

I have a piper none resonated which is current set up and this is the best exhaust i have had for price , quality and noise.

It is quite a bit louder than Milltek and you know about it before you hit high revs. At high revs it is additive puts a smile still on my face. But again it is not chavy or over intrusive just a nice rumble.

I do have a sound clip somewhere and will post it.

Mine makes an angry noise at full throttle! I love it :)

Here  is mine

I dunno if its findable with the search :(

I'll see if can find it

Its the distant change up i like in that :D

Well if we're putting exhaust videos on here you go mines a Power-flo, no centre box and 3" decat pipe.

Has your car had a remap yet mate?

I only ask because this was one of the bugbears of mine when I first bought her - a reluctance to rev much past 5k. To the extent that it was pointless doing so - changing up at 5k was a better option, power and torque wise....but it did **** me off!

So I had a Revo remap - and the difference is like night and day. She will now bury herself way into the breadline - past 6k if asked for, with the same willingness of acceleration as the previous few 000k's...

Well worth doing - especially if you're buying performance exhausts too, no?!
