First Skoda - ever. Octavia III on order.

Featured Replies

We've done it :)

Two weeks ago I finally took the big step, and placed an order for the first even Skoda in the family. A 2013 Octavia III 1.6 TDi combi was signed for at the local dealer in Stockholm - and build week 13 returned as a promise. We'll see how that holds up!

According to the dealership, we made some good choices:

- Elegance trim

- Panoramic sunroof

- Racing blue metallic

- Ilias 16" rims

- Beige and satin black interior

- Electric open-and-close hatch

- Electric drive and passenger seat

- Wood decor

Remains to be seen whether they are, but he seemed eager to take it off our hands - ain't happenin' :)

Welcome to Briskoda

Sounds like a nice choice of options too

Why, thank you ChrisRs. Quite looking forward to seeing the real thing.

And thank you for the welcome. Now I just need to get my formatting (and spelling!) sorted.

Hi windrose con grats on your selection of a Skoda I have my latest a Mk111 Elegance 2.00 DSG TDi and VERY pleased as this is my TENTH skoda

Hope you have not too long to wait but believe me it will be the best wait you can have.

Ive had a Fabia vRS estate and a MK2 Octavia vRS TDI DSG estate all new in the past three years having had a MK5 and two MK6 VW Golfs prior. Now have a MK3 2.0 TDi Elegance estate manual and can happily say (touch wood) its the most impressive of the bunch; just an all round excellent car, fast, economical, comfortable, well built and v well equipped....very cheap for what it is too. There really isnt alot not to like about the Octavia 3.

We h ave, so far, only had a chance to test drive the 1.2 TSi model - not an Elegance, I might add. It was quite pleasant, with SO actually being able to sit up.

Compared to the 307SW, however, it DID feel a little cramped around the windows. No surprise, tho. Looking forward to the "real deal" - I suspect the beige interior and the sunroof (the panoramic variety) will do a lot to offset the smaller side and front windows.

Quick update: we're now at the end of week 12 with no delays announced by Skoda. They start build next week. The original estimate of "10-12" weeks seems to hold.

Welcome to the forum, it is required that you post pictures when you take delivery, hope you will go along with that! That is very quick delivery, much shorter than we seem to be getting here in the UK, especially for the vRS models. Maybe something to do with being left hand drive and you probably paying a lot more.

Absolutely :) Pictures will be taken - according to the surprisingly informative dealer the car lands in Sweden tomorrow, 10th of April. We might beat the 12 week deadline!
